I guess they would put some stones in that way ;)

I write most reviews for a scientific societies magazine that set a stop at 1918. Well, it was founded in 1897 and it took a long time to get them to accept post 1871 themes. http://www.waffen-kostuemkunde.de/

I had an article written by me rejected for being too modern. About the first Tranter revolver with metal cartridges. :o

Is there any irony in the magazine being published in the modern age, or do they typeset by hand? ;)

Irony, hmmm, not realy. Politics..... yes. It's published in Germany, you remember the small problems in mid 20th century ? :?
Stopping in 1918 they avoid a lot of problems. Even getting some financial support from the state for being a scientific society. You know the good people asking: "Arms and military? How....."

Same with ancient times or medieval times reenactment, romantic , cute, political correct. Napoleonic, hmmm colourfull, acceptable. WW I doubtfull. And WW II / modern? Bad, soooo bad. Not acceptable.

We have the same with wargaming....... :?

I was more referring to the irony of them refusing an article about the modern-ish revolver, but yet they are able to publish faster, better, cleaner, digitally!

That whole mid-20th century stuff I know nothing about.
