Legio IIII Flavia Felix

Postby Biggus Dickus » Thu Sep 22, 2011 9:57 pm

Here is my 4th legion Flavia Felix.
There were all originally done with standard Transfers straight out of the warlord box...but as lovely as they were I knew the legion number wasn't right and i had my doubts about the shield logo.

I went away did lots of reading and together with my own assumptions based on a few facts I came up with these.
Clearly Trajans Column has shield logos but that's all we have to go on and they are rather elaborate.
Until something comes out of the ground to prove otherwise my best guess is as legitamate as the wings and lightening bolts which have passed into established fact.......All shield blazons are largely theoretical, unless you want to show me an original that you have ;)
i know they won't be to everyones taste...but I'd hate for us all to be the same.

The potential for truely personalised legions without the need for hours of painting is a very interesting development.
These have loads of detail. BD you must be a technical wizard! We now know why you've been so quiet

Great work! Love the style of the blazons, they look really unique, and very impressive.

It's commercial sponsorship gone mad, naming a Roman legion after catfood.

I nearly went for Miooow Mixus, but despite going through what was left of my ospreys (now standing on a book shelf next to the adventures of Noddy in the children's fiction section) I couldn't find any reference to it. ;)

I suppose it's better than naming all their Emperors after a range of food for little dogs.
