Yeah the Pendraken were really nice. When I planned out the two opposing armies, and thought about affordable terrain (buildings mostly) I just kept coming back to Baccus. Who knows, if I can convince my group to like them, they may even go 6mm!

I plan to have 8 figures to a 30mm x 30mm base, representing a company. Should be interesting to paint 6mm again, and the best part is, if you paint a 28mm scale unit after, it's ridiculously easy because they look enormous!

Adler miniatures are a :?: Some love them for the good casting, some hate them for the very big heads.

I have big armies in 6mm and got some Adler but I prefer the older Heroics, they look more human. The following are all Heroics.

Adler has heads like Sputnik on a stick. Too big for me!

Another forgotten bonus of 6mm - terrain is CHEAP! Just went to the local shop, $32 got me enough for two nice European villages. Nice!

Gentlemen and any Ladies also present,

With the latest Newsletter announcing The Duke of Cumberland & Bonnie Prince Charlie figures, perhaps the "plastic solution" to army size in 28mm is getting nearer to hand? Care to comment, John?? ;)

The plastics are coming, as I was told; but not too soon, as I wondered if I should await the purchase of Charlie and the Duke until there were a full range available. I was advised to not wait - the plastics are some time off, but I could not ascertain any further as to when!

I bet Warlord will make SYW plastics. Knowing the Perry will make plastic AWI and that Wargames Factory will sell WSS plastic cavalry, that's the empty niche!
I don't mind about the "ugliness" seen in WF WSS plastic infantry. Front Rank are big heads; I love 'em. Renegade are huge; they have their cheering crowd too. Warlord Prussian Landwehr have lovers and haters too.
For me the important thing is that we have plastics for WSS. Make them fillers if you want, back rankers, etc.Same with infantry and cavalry. But this is for true: armies were large from 1700 on so you'll have hands full just painting WSS plastic infantry until they take out the cavalry. In the meanwhile metal arty and command can be found anywhere else and it won't be expensive (not grand batteries then). And in the meantime, Warlord will have started its own plastic SYW range.
Ein? ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

It's only a matter of time, I agree. Don't like the Wargames Factory - won't use them even as filler!

But when Warlord makes SYW or 1745 minis, I'm all in. The 6mm will likely get put on eBay or stored.

It's going to be an exciting time; the 18th century has some of the fines uniforms around!
