It won't be all that long but no specific date set yet. We're talking 2-3 weeks I'd think.
Cheers,

Now here's a question....this set of figures instantly said buy me, more so than the scorpions. Does that definately make me a painter rather than a gamer? I cant see any practical purpose to thaese figures other than making the table look pretty....perhaps some + to morale if the troops know the surgeons about ( or - !)

I agree whole heartedly.................I am going to have to suggest that there is some sort of regeneration rule/or chance of regeneration for wounded Romans if a medicus is within a certain distance........or actually just fielded on the battlefield! (We use our own rule book, which is still in the writing down rules as we think of them phase!)
Without some sort of rule, there isn't any immediate advantage in a war game....but it is Eye candy for us wargamers!
Whilst enemies of Rome would have been using pagan magic and "wise women"...to cure their wounded...which would have worked too (Warlord...you know what you have to do! ;) )............The Romans would have been using Greek Medicene/science to save battlefield casualities so there should be some advantage to that in the rules.......I can see an amendment coming for hail Caesar!........Help! Mr Priestley!!!!! ;)
it would certainly make the medicus a must have figure! ;)........It was hard enough to kill Romans in all that armour already, things just got tougher for wode kind

Really love this sculpt, it looks fantastic. I have to say WG quality just keeps getting better and better, all the extras and details on this set make it a must have.

@Carvel2 I am a painter not a gamer (though all that will change with the forth coming WG Pike and Shotte rules, or if I get HC and my Roman and Celt done before then). But I think at heart most of us want our battlefields to look magnificent, hence all the time and effort we spend on them. (Count the hours spent modelling/painting compared to those playing). I can imagine this set would look great inside the walls of your roman fort, or by the watchtower to add a lot of character.

@ Mikeland...I really have to agree. The gaming adds a new dynamic but for me it has to look 'pretty'.
I will definately be buying this set without a second thought where as I tend to agonise over every other purchase. Good idea for placements :D
Its a real pleasure to see minature worlds done well in whatever 'forum' eg railways, planes etc etc. There must be a reason. I'd happily spend hours looking at 'small worlds'. (not that one at Disney Paris!!!! The legoland world village though..... :D )
