Well..the frontiers pretty much finished. No sooner was it up than it was swamped by Celts who took exception to the blatent disregard for planning law. DBA rules for us...and beer :D

"Strewth, there's a geezer down there without his strides on" ...Several in fact.....

Well Carvel I really like that, you have done a fantastic job of the tower, looks like you need some re-inforcements!.....I'd send the marines but sadly they haven't come through basic training yet and I think the site of a Naked celt covered in tatts might send them running to the hills!......or back to the boat at least!

Is that Titus Aduxas on the front wall there? I see your General is taking it easy in the shade, has he got a cold beer? ;)
This has inspired me, seriously...when i start the scenery I will have a go at one of these towers, going to build into the side of a small hill and stick a perimeter fence round it....but that's a long way off at the moment! :(

Great photos. The watchtower looks magnificent. I notice the celts have brought their beer monolith with them again.

A few scorpions would be ideal to aid in bringing civilisation (and clothing!) to this rabble!
(But I guess that depends on taking your request to the spending committee, and hoping she doesn't want to cut defence spending ;) )

oh the Legion Iconography on the tower is asuperb idea mate....Love it!! #

Now why didnt WE think of that!!

Soldiers always decorate their barracks when there is nothing else to do....and in the middle of Gaul or Britain there must have been some down time!!!!!!

Well done..

Celts had some "downtime" in there last night; perhaps a little graffiti is needed - "Romanes eunt domus ... Romani ite domum ..."? ;)

Are we to assume there's been some quiet time at the Carvel household?
Good photos - like them a lot

Well done building, looks great. But....., I fear you will hate me but the devil get's the :geek: to nag .

The graffity is realy nice but the tower crews came not from the Legions, they are from Auxilia or Limitanii. The miles from the legions did the building so we find the bricks with their symbols. But I doubt that they did such an artwork.

Well, I'm sure you find a cover story. I allways went for the valera victrix. :P May be that tower is in sight of a former field of battle. Commemorating a great victory.

No worries. It sits well on the table and adds a little drama.

Well, the :geek: is realy happy to see nicely painted items. At Salute and other shows you see so many bad ones.

How do you manage the space problems? Buildings tend to take a lot of it. And a complete Roman wall, from sea to sea  even more.
