Postby Consul Scipio » Thu Mar 10, 2011 10:45 pm

I just got the Imperial Roman Starter Army box and was so excited I put up a quick outline of what came in it on my blog: http://tabletopgamer.blogspot......-army.html

Imperial Roman Starter Army Box Contents

Good blog article, love the un-boxing. I totally am in agreement by the childhood memories evoked by Warlord's packaging. Am interested in a roman starter army myself, but am a little disappointed by the ratio of pilum to gladius in the standard legionary sprue. So I may make the bulk of my troops up using the veterans box, and just buy one box of standard legionaries to mix in. But it does look like a lovely box, and is exceptional value.

Yes the box set is great value that is why I am waiting for my son to save up half the value and then I will put the rest to for him and then get 10% discount for our club members at our local store. The first incarnation of the set with the metals in was even better value I believe.

Thank you everyone.  Having compared the veterans with the regulars I can see how someone would buy just veteran boxes for their Roman army.  Those are some fantastic miniatures and well worth the money.I added a picture of the sheild transfers that came in the box for completeness.
