The Hail Caesar section of this forum is unlikely to grow if everyone is over there at Yahoo having their Hail Caesar discussions. This is the Warlord Games forum and Hail Caesar is a Warlords Games product, so shouldn't this be the place where people go for Hail Caesar action? From a practical perspective, it doesn't help promote the growth of Hail Caesar because it gives the impression that the game must not be that popular because no one is talking about it on the manufacturer's own forum. I am on so many sites and forums I would really rather not go sign up for yet another just to follow this game. I may do it out of necessity, but it is an annoyance.

Well, I answer any queries that I am able, both on that group and this. If I ask a question or post anything myself, then I do so in both places. Funny thing, though, this problem has never come up with Black Powder! There has been a BP Yahoo group running parallel to this forum ever since BP was published and the two have complemented each other very well indeed, providing the same service. In fact, as I understand it, the Hail Caesar group was set up for that very reason and Scott asked whether there would be a problem before setting it up. Everybody embraced it at the time and it has done very well.

The way I look on it is that the games will get two "official" hits each on google when you search them instead of one. Clearly this is a good thing.

Since when was it the law that, if you play HC, you have to check both boards? Or indeed, either of them?

Here didst thou fall; and here thy hunters stand,
Sign'd in thy spoil, and crimson'd in thy lethe.

And then there is this additional forum, as well...

Argh! Too many boards mein herr. Ve must subsume all competing boards and consolidate power into vun central board! Zen ve vill establish a board which vill endure for a thousand years!

(Godwin's Law used here only for comedic purposes I hasten to add)

Having said that, if Rick, Paul, John or anyone else at Warlord Games should feel that the Yahoo fan group is negatively impacting their business and ask me to close the group, I would of course respect their wishes and do so.

I really like the Yahoo group format as it allows anyone to post pictures and files into the archive sections - I have posted a number of army lists for example. I can't do that with the Warlord site (as far as I can tell) and up until now there has been no facility for me to put up articles that can be indexed or referenced. That will hopefully improve in the future and the Warlord site can become a much more useful resource for the Black Powder and Hail Caesar games. Yahoo groups can also be set to post out as e-mail - which many people prefer - they are much more easily adjusted to the format you prefer. So I'm a big fan:)

Keep up the good work I say:)
