Turf wall +wargame board update

Postby carvel2 » Fri Jun 03, 2011 6:03 pm

Well after all the helpful advice my wallet is lighter than it was. From the pictures you will note a new playing surface 8x4 …at the moment painted a flat green.I'm not going to texture it as it fits neatly onto the dining table (with some struts underneath) and will double as an xmas  extension for all the inlaws : 0 ( with a table cloth of course). I think there will be some mottling! The gate way is a work in progress for the celts to hide behind Laugh As are the extra turf sections which need their timber sections adding.

You banged that very quickly!…One tiny criticism your bottle of beer is the wrong scale, it's way to big, I see your army has come marching out of that nightclub again, "Stringusfellownius" you wouldn't catch any of my men in there! Hehehehe

Excellent stuff - i like the defences very much! If you want ideas for mottling you might try decorating books, but i'd recommend using 2-3 different greens and browns on the top for a good varied finish, stippling it on with a sponge will take some of the pain out of it!How serious were you about not wanting any more modelling tips? Only you could really bring the watchtower to life with a bit of an ink wash, and a bit of green wash around the bottom of the legs would work wonders as bits of damp and rot in them. (sorry if you Really were serious!)

@BD yes, the army found the prices in stringfellownius too steep so went looking for cheap celtic beer ...they were guided by a large beer monolith ; )@Jaif...BEER! Laugh No doughnuts Cry@Bigmike...forgiven Wink You have supplied finishing off suggestions not....ooo a section of rampart being rebuilt in stone would be good (doh! now I've said it !) The gateway got a quick slosh of emulsion last night. It lacks character so your thoughts will be put into action!@Mikeland...yup! Hence the compromise on surface. But worth it : )@Canada steve.....Laugh
