Covenanter Combat values

Postby Shapur II » Thu Mar 17, 2011 9:11 am

I just received my Scots Covenanters and I must say I am pleased as I have been with all of the Sets I've ordered so far.  I was however disapointed to see that the insert did not contain the Black Powder Combat values for the covenanters.  All of the other sets I have received include that data was this an oversight? Any word on the Pike and shotte supplement? Stu

I am pretty confident that all this information will be contained in the Pike and Shotte supplement. I had a similar response from Warlord when I was asking how I should organise my troops. Please refer to my thread "Starting a Scots Covenenter Army" which has some organisational suggestions. The PIke and Shotte supplement ,I know for a fact is going through very extensive playtesting at the moment and I know the guys who are doing this are putting a lot of time and effort to ensure that the rules stand up. Therfore I don't expect this supplement to be too far away but obviously I would guess that Hail Ceasar is getting priority treatment ( Romans always do!) and would expect the Pike and Shotte supplement to be released later this year.I must admit having bought the Scots set and a few English sets I wasn't aware that Blackpowder data was contained in these. I certainly didn't have it in my sets or at least didn't notice it.I will have another look tonight when I get home.

The Pike and SHotte info is contained in the Swedish and Imperialistsets I have.  The Swedish Infantry and Cavalry as well as theImperialist infantry set  contain values for Black Powder.  I do nothave any of the individual ECW boxed sets.  I haveread the Scots Covenanter thread and was aware that the playtest wasongoing.  I'm not contemplating building a Covenenter Army though. Swedes will be my main focus with the Scots and Germans etc as Allies I was interested in the Tactical discussion regarding unit organizationfrom that thread as I have looked at Swedish Brigade formations and amlooking forward to experimenting with those. Waiting patiently for Hail Caesar as well  so my Sassanids can get off the shelf and into battle.....

Covenanter Combat values

The more recently released sets (TYW Imperial and Swedish) have the stats on the enclosed leaflets.I bought these packs to use for ECW because they are really good value, just £2.50 more than the Parliament or Royalist infantry boxes for 5 additional metal figures, plus extra hat and stuff.

Thats probably why I didn't see the stats then. I did think I may need a visit to Specksavers!Laugh I will take a look at one of these sets tonight when I take my lad to the "junior night" at the store. It just shows then if the stats are enclosed on these recent releases , then the supplement can't be too far away. Wink
