Quick artillery question?

Postby ScottS » Mon Sep 27, 2010 4:30 pm

I'm rather new to the ECW era, so here's a question that is probably obvious to the grognards... What color would the barrels of a Scots "frame gun" be?  Black iron?  Bronze? How about a Saker cannon?

Both sets of barrels would probably be painted black to stop rusting, equally the carriage is likely to have been painted!

Would black with a very light drybrush of brass - to represent paint flaking off from wear - be accurate?
