Forum Maintenance 8th September

Postby Paul @ Warlord Games » Thu Sep 02, 2010 8:36 am

Just a heads up to let you all know the forum software is going to be upgraded on the 8th September resulting a few hours downtime for the forums. This won't affect the store or the website.

As you know there are some issues that need to be fixed (some don't get sent passwords, topic subscriptions are failing, etc) and this extensive software upgrade is designed to fix all these issues and hopefully also give us more functionality.

If these details change I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Cheers,

Paul

Cheers,

Paul Sawyer

I prefered the old forum due to it showing me all the new posts on one page, I will now have to hunt through every board to see whats new.

I'm sorry to say that I have to agree with these comments. Ungrateful lot aren't we? It was much better when we could see the new posts on the front page. However, at least the little red or orange coloured speech bubbles indicate when a new post has been made so it shouldn't take too long to get used to it. Al

hi guys what about having a button saying 'NEW POSTS' which then goes to, and shows, the last 10 or 20 topics to have a new post in them.that way we can just click on this to read whats new as before
we dont stop playing because we get old. we get old because we stop playing!!

yep, I second the former comments. I miss the New Posts option. Hunting through the orange text ballloons isn´t as good, since I now have to click on them all when I used to see all the interesting posts in one glance.

sorry, but I have to register my agreement with the above.
Pardon me, Julius! Here wast thou bay'd, brave hart;
Here didst thou fall; and here thy hunters stand,
Sign'd in thy spoil, and crimson'd in thy lethe.

I can't say I am a massive fan of the layout either but that may have something to do with being a cantankerous old git!! with a healthy dose of fear regarding any change to my normal routine! However I think there is a way round it....If you scroll to the bottom of the main forum screen, on the right is an option box stating: new/recently updated topics - click on the down arrow and a list appears showing posts since your last visit. It does make it easier than searching around....

 Yes, but that was there on the old forum site anyway, except it was at the top.
