Celt Shield Question

Postby Comeandgetorix » Thu Jul 03, 2008 9:47 am

Hello chaps,

Just to add more weight to the general discussion. I actually was going to start a new thread about missing shields etc but thought I had better check there wasn't one already going on - and there was!

First of all can I just say how much fun I have had over the last three nights assembling the figures - it took me back to my old Airfix 'multipose' figures days and I really quite enjoyed it. The figures are excellent the heads and torsos fit quite ingeniously to give a lot of flexibility of pose too.

Shields - now that is the area which for me too lets things down. This refers to the Celtic Warriors. I have tried to overlook the shortage but there are now too many figures doing some kind of 'camp' hand on hip type thing! I did wonder if I had received one wrong sprue set and received a duplicate of another. From reading the other posts I can see that this wasn't the case. Please can I add to the case for a weapons pack which can be bought separately. This would have so many uses and would be a real help.

I do love the figures and please don't take the shields criticisms to heart (its not really criticism, more suggestions to improve something that is really good). I could buy lead ones but your plastic ones are great - I just want more of them! A lot more of them!

Kind regards,

Hi,

Warlord's now do a Celt upgrade pack. It contains 2 new variant Carynx horn, 6 bucklers, 4 bucklers with javelins and 4 carved stone heads, and the best bit is it's only £1.50 per pack.

Thanks very much for that, Mark. I had no idea that it had already been done! Well, I have to say that I am impressed with Warlord Games for listening to customers feedback and doing something about it so quickly. Other manufacturers take note!

Kind regards,

Celt Shield Question

Postby Paul @ Warlord Games » Thu Jul 03, 2008 7:13 pm

Thanks gents - we always intended to produce a range of upgrade packs but on hearing that some wanted sheilds for every model in their Celt army we decided to bring production forward of the first pack.

Expect to see more packs for both Roman and Celts in future.

Cheers,

Paul

Celt Shield Question

Postby DanJ » Fri Jul 04, 2008 10:35 am

Hi,

Just got back from Gaul Smile so I've missed afew of these posts, when I said I looked in vain for a figure for the horn I meant I was looking for a figure actually blowing the thing, not just waving it arround.

Good news about the add on pack.

The first upgrade pack are bucklers so not sized the same as the stickers.

We are looking at making our shield designs available separately though.

Ah right. I've already ordered the upgrade pack, so theres nothing you can say to stop me getting them now! Cool (apart from going into the warehouse and throwing my order away...)
