I also have some auxiliary to take some photos of.

But I haven't painted the command yet.

Over the Christmas break I managed to paint up

- 30 Auxiliary

- 20 Legionaries

- 20 Slingers

and the above warmachines.

I still have 60 legionaries, 50 auxiliary and 20 archers to go before the army is 'finished'.

But then I have to get some cavalry...

The next project I am working on is a diorama of Boadicea.

And thinking along the same lines as the roman artillery pieces do you think it feasible that celts would have painted their chariots with lary colours?

If so, what colours - Blue like their woad?

A white lime wash?

Green?

Yellow?

Does anyone know of a partciularly sacred colour or one that would be used in symbolism with the Chariot?

Shouldn't it be pink if it's for a girl? :-)

My apologies to the ladies for such thoughtless sexism....Sereiously though would it be more likely that they had carved designs/shapes into the wood or displayed trinkets/jewels/good luck charms etc.
