As some of you know, I have been thinking about this subject for a while ... my online reference has been this:

specifically:

http://www.humanist.de/rome/rts/wagon.html

and the challenge for my model:

... apologies for going a bit ‘high-brow’ no you ;)

More on my blog ...

Cheers

:D Oh! I don’t know! A little more diligence perhaps, before getting all excited! ;)

Seriously, I know it’s just a game of toy soldiers, and I’m no expert in things Roman, but there is some pretty serious modelling going on hereabouts, and it seems to me that if one if going to go to the effort of making things then one should put at least some effort into finding out what sort of functional and physical characteristics they should have ... This is just my opinion, of course, but I find such effort adds a certain depth to the enjoyment of this hobby.

The web site I have cited really made me think: it scrutinises received views and offers some interesting interpretations ... I have found it helpful, though it has slowed down the actual model making :o

That's exactly my thinking when I did the US thread. The amount of times I've made a model and had that "oh crap" moment when I realise I've done something massively wrong. I'd love to do some BA Commando's but I just don't know enough about Brits to feel confident in them.

You could try this one:

http://wargamesfoundry.com/other_ranges ... rt_gpr011/

But watch out for their P&P... Ouch! I'd try look for it on eBay.

The amount of customers they don't get for the sake of a couple of quid over reasonable on their postage is incredible. They really need to address that.

Absolutely, they have very comprehensive lines and there are a few blisters I'd love but only on a now and then ad hoc way. They could do with re thinking their business model a little I think.

Hi All

I have this version of that:

http://wargamesfoundry.com/other_ranges/single_packs/carts/any/ancient_large_four_wheeled_cart_gpr015/

... and this weekend they have a 20% discount ... I only ever buy from them when they are discounting so that it covers the excessive postage ... usually order around Christmas ... I think I have everything I need from their ranges now.

Cheers
