ooooo i did a foreshore walk along the Thames! found most clay pipe and medieval pottery though, because roman pottery is rarer (although i did find a few sherds) Great find ;) 8-)

Very much so :D was supposed to have been digging in Caerleon last year, but i had to pull out at the last minute unfortunately, hopefully they're doing some digging this year though as well :D

Well, the token is a very rare find for the provinces but the article has the usual standard. That special "service" did not cost anything like a workers day income or some breads. Just the price of a simple cheap drink.
Londinium had the same abundance of "service personal" in Roman times like in Victorian times.

So, has anything come of that fancy cavalry helmet found over there? The one the guy who found it decided to sell to the highest bidder instead of donating it to a museum? I heard a rumor that a guy in Wichita KS (just 20 miles north of me) might have bought it.
