I like to mix up the kit too for a less uniform look, I'd also add that you might want to look in the shop for additional head sets (in metal but work very well with a blob of superglue).....there are some other variations on a legionary helmet in the shop which make a big difference to the look of the unit...and also for some Tribune converions use the Attic helmet pack on centurion body!......I feel a third order coming on!!!

I was thinking about doing a couple of Tribunes to with my Legate making a blood offering diorama - as if he's gathered some of his staff in order to take part in the ritual before the battle. Something along the lines of Legate, Tribune, Signifier and Primus Pilus all gathered around the central plinth.

The secret is to wait behnd a bush and leap out at them as they run round the hill. Because one set of legs is shorter than the other (to enable them to run in circles round hills and remain level) when they panic and turn to run the other way they'll tumble down the hill and lay stunned at the bottom.

The Haggis is possibly why the Romans could not conquer Scotland - they can be vicious little buggers when cornered!

I'm telling you...Haggis baiting is the only way to catch the woolly bugger....

Re: Legio II Augusta - Lorica Hamata conversions

Postby Centurion Dan » Fri Jan 13, 2012 9:19 pm

Got a couple of group shots of my Lorica Hamata conversions built using auxilary bodies and spare bits from legionaries.

A couple of my favourite conversions. ImageImageImage
The last one was done by using a spare arm from the legionary slingers.
