thanks for all the nice comments guys i liked the eyes to, but personally my favorite bit was the lion skin, which was just experimenting with dry brushing and washing
and Carvel yeah that is flash, however i decided to give the shoulder a more leathery look (which there is a pic of below)
he's still a work in progress needs finishing touches and some of the Armour needs another round of highlighting as it's just been washed again :p
enjoy
p.s. Can't wait untill my copy of HC arrives... along with that centurion he looks like a fun one to paint

AG, Apologies if this is badly out of date, but I am in the United States. Here we can get them at practically any hobby shop dealing in plastic models for diorama builders. One chain is Hobby Town, another is Hobby Lobby. If you are outside the US I would recommend any good hobby shop.
As for the "purple" board Styrofoam you mentioned, go to your local DIY store (Lowes, Home Depot or the like in the US) and get insulation board used for construction, I do not have a brand name. Here in the US it is blue. The foam board is high density and easy to cut and shape. I have an electric foam cutter obtainable from Hobby Lobby which works well for all kinds. I can get some smooth shapes and then use a rough foam grater (also from DIY shop) for interesting cuts and draws. The foam board comes in 4'x8' sheets, but if you are lucky enough to have construction in your area, I would go raid their trash barrel for pieces! White sytrofoam makes a real mess with the beads during cutting, so if it is what you can find - I strongly recommend a wire hot cutter.............
thank you erosthenes, for your belated reply i've tried all the websites for UK DIY places e.g. wickes, and although they appear to stock it, they charge stupid amounts for delivery i'll just keep trudging along :L, i think there is a construction depot in the next town from me, so checking there probably wont hurt

The extra troops i mentioned got here slightly early i.e. begged the girlfriend only submitted to one box though already done like 11 of them and have been working on the rest throughout the day so hope to get them done by tomorrow, also got an extra command sprue for my legionaries so division 1 is broken down like this so far in (units of men): Aquilifer as commander? (read below) 20 legionaries 20 legionaries 20 veteran legionaries
To finish off the division i am thinking either a box of auxiliaries or a box of auxiliary cavalry (leaning towards the latter) what does anybody think i should finish it off with oh and for the commander of this division i am thinking of using the Aquilifer model for two reasons: The first being i think the model looks absolutely brilliant, and secondly theres some basis for them being leader like figures when needed :p e.g. my quote. Will be sure to upload pictures of the completed units... when they are completed
