Individual Imperial Roman Eastern Archers

I have often wondered whether 'eastern' archers stationed in the 'west' would wear 'western' clothing (with some eastern influence, say helmets for example) because of the climate mainly and western archers stationed in the east would look like eastern archers.

I might be alone in this.....but I figured if you were an archer from syria stationed on hadrians wall then the chances were you'd wear no silk, but definitely trousers and a cloak!

Yes, really good point. I often think this about the soldiers we paint, they are great but I bet in reality they were all a lot more mix and match, ragged and dressed in whatever eased life on campaign, whatever the period, after a few months roughing it any army must look a lot less parade ground.

Still, I think I might go for the Eastern Archers (just for the look if nothing else).
