Picked up my shiny new book at salute yesterday and had a small chat with Steve. Firstly many, many thanks to him for taking time out to chat when he was clearly rushing around like a loon. 3 things came up in our conversation:
1. The author is. Royalist (ha!). Although no in game advantage to anyone except bragging rights.
2. The man has an incredibly crazy project on his hands. I'll let him fill you all in on it if he wants to. Suffice to say it's the kind of thing you'd see in a History thesis. If it does come together though, I'd love a copy.
3. He erattad the one typo he knew of. On page 163 it states highlanders cost XX points. They don't, they cost 38. He kindly wrote this on the back of a business card, which now doubles up as a bookmark for the shiny rulebook.
Hi Guys Hopefully covered some of these questions with an initial errata/mini FAQ on a different thread. The project I spoke to Chilledenuff about at Salute involves regimental backgrounds/battles/officers/coats & colours for as many ECW regiments as possible...started off as a notion to find and list a regiment for each county in case people wanted to start with a locally raised army. Needless to say this has grown out of control, but may be something I eventually finish. Cheers Steve
@HobbitMiles If only! There are so many gaps even in many of the regiments that are listed, and there are many that aren't. It is one of the source books though and certainly helpful, along with some good stuff from Toronto Press of all places. The fact that I quite like travelling and spending time in museums/local studies libraries etc is also helpful Cheers Steve
