Other Film/TV ''inspirations'' ; ''The Flashing Blade '' :old , there is a TYW combat sequence in the Gepardieu film ''Cyrano '' , and although not TYW ''henry of Navarre'' is well worth watching as is '' La Renne Margot '' .

Ah! "The Flashing Blade".

Over dinner tonight with a bunch of gaming buddies we were talking about this fabulous series. Over 40 years old, filmed in French with appalling overdubbing in English. Yet despite that one of the best historical romps for boys from 8 to 80 ever made. Now cheap on DVD.

If you've never seen it your life is the poorer for it. If you have seen it you know that you want to see it again.
