Those miniatures, nicely done. They have a fantastic 300 look. Not the movie I would recommend as a historic one but great entertainement.

You mean to tell me Xerxes wasn't 7foot tall  but what about the Immortals and the mythical beasts  joking aside i preffered the look of the persians in the original.

Well, it's an adaptation of a comic book for crying out loud!
"You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me, it's a full time job." – Lt. Bromhead to Prince Dabulamanzi before the Battle of Rorke's Drift.

Hard to believe but a German magazine journalist wrote a review about 300 being a movie of great historical accuracy. Well, many said that about Gladiator.

Back to the miniatures, I love the fresh Tamya blood on the shields, it must be fresh. In the breaks a real Spartan would clean his shield. ;)

If I can find an appropriate figure, was thinking of having him jumping off another Spartans shield as in the last episode of the first series of Spartacus: blood and sand

Bump :)
It is not these well-fed long-haired men
that I fear, but the pale and the hungry-
looking.

Ok then here is an up date.
I have now finished the Spartans although just bought another 10!
It was difficult to show all the highlights at various stages....difficult and too subtle for my camera and lighting conditions.
Then I did some blocking in with GW blood red, then a dry brush with that.....I lightened the blood red with bleached bone to get a pink shade, and dry brushed that on the raised areas....you could if you wanted to leave it here but I then dry brushed on a final highlight of yellow to the raised areas over the pink. following pictures show completed figures.
I then completed their leather pants! any belts/scabbards and wooden shafts on spears, hair and finally sandals, before base coating base in scorched brown......these now await tufts etc!
