And another question

Postby Sigridsdad » Mon May 07, 2012 5:41 pm

One more, ok, maybe 2 more, questions.
1. I have 3 units of Abraham's Finest, Lined up and ready to shoot at one of Jeff Davis's ruffians. Lets say that the CSA Unit already is at 3 hits, and is "Shaken." do all 3 units fire as one? Do I fire one unit, then do a Break Test? I guess easier put, when do I do a break test? At the end of one units firing? Or at the end of the entire Sides shooting?

2. If a unit is broken, and runs away? Does it do so at the end of the firing Sides turn, or does it get a chance to fie back before running away?
Ok, maybe 3...
3. Is it possible to "shake off hits" If a unit is at 3 hits. Do they fade with turns, or can you use commands to take them off, or is the unit stuck with them for the rest of the game?
As a note, there are just 2 of us playing here on a FOB in Afghanistan, and not a lot of people to ask! I really appreciate the quick answer to the last question, this really does seem to be an excellent forum!

1) Page 70, second paragraph under Tests From Shooting. "After each turn's shooting is complete, units must take a break test if their total number of casualties is higher than their stamina value."

So you complete all your shooting before any tests are taken.

2) If a unit breaks it is immediately removed from the table. It doesn't get to fight back.

3) A commander can issue a Rally order to a unit with 2 or more casualties. If successfully issued, a casualty can be removed. The unit will always have the first casualty and that cannot be removed once received. See page 31. Note that this order is the last one that the commander can issue for that turn. He cannot issue further orders to other units!

Good luck! :)

1 The break test from shooting happens after the turns shooting is complete - see page 70, last paragraph in the first column.

2 If a unit breaks it cannot shoot back, neither does it run away - it is considered destroyed and removed.

3 A rally test can be used to remove hits, but not the last one. A rally is a special command covered on page 31 of the rulebook.

Best of luck out there in Afghanistan. Providing prompt answers is the least we can do :)

Edit Oops didn't see Al's post.
