I don't think any of the browns are dark enough for the Zulus. I am considering the same question for my Fuzzy-Wuzzies.

I have decided I will likely go with a white and then airbrush the skin dark, followed by hand painting.

Th other option is to use a graffiti artist's spray. There is a brand called Montana Gold, that has hundreds of colours. Luckily I can get them at a local high-end art shop.

I know it sounds odd but blue washes work well on African skin, around the deep recesses.

I second that Parus, someone told me this a few years back and it works great, I did get lazy though when faced with 300 Zulus and airbrushed them Bestial brown and then gave them a Strong tone AP shade/varnish, so if you have an airbrush johnm then this method worked quite well as well and got them on the table super fast, well apart from the patterns on the shields.

I've been using Armypainter leather brown spray, after looking at angus Mcbrides artwork. Seems to work well with army painer shade. Well it works for me lol

I've been spraying mine black and then brushing with Vallejo Charred Brown followed by Citadel Dark Flesh. The results aren't the neatest but I'm happy enough.

Use the "leather brown" spray. Block on the other colours, then splash on some AP dark tone with a brush - it looks great.

I've just tried using Citadel Ogryn Flesh wash over AP Leather Brown, and it works well

Is there any chance that some of you chaps could post a pic or two of the results of your reccomended methods please? I'd love to find a technique that takes less time than mine as I'm at risk of missing a deadline for a game atm.
