Regelbau 680

Postby cromojaro » Thu Apr 12, 2012 9:21 am

That was a project built some months ago. I was interested in make a bunker of the Atlantikwall since I visited Normandy in the summer of 2006.

I found the blueprint in the book DER ATLANTIKWALL 1940 - 1945 of THORSTEN HEBER M.A. With this and some SketchUp found in Internet I made the regelbau.

The main structure of the bunker is made of plywoood. Serveral layers of plywoood glued togheter to simulate concrete.

Yes, I'm very clumsy :D

27 seven layers. Was harder than I supposed :geek:

Two more photos of the bunker painted. Overcoated with Citadel Black Chaos Spray and drybrushed with Vallejo London Grey, Citadel Fortress Grey and Vallejo White:

The bunked opened:

P.S. The gun is the German Pak 40 75mm. The standard gun for that bunker.

The layered plywood really does look like concrete - a great job there. Insane - but great!

So is that how they were constructed then, in concrete layers?
