Thanks for the heads up. Need some flesh wash and blue ink. I was going to look on Maelstrom as well (they have a 25% discount on stock items at the mo)

I'm slowly making the switch to vallejo, Just using up all GW paints i still have, not really due to the name changes though, i just prefer the vallejo ones as i think that they are of a better quality :p

Heard the texture paint is pretty rubbish, others a bit like before. Don't care too much actually, like many here I'll be finally making a definite move to another supplier (yet to be determinded, ordered some paints of various brands to compare).

I got a demo of the texture paint as I thought it could prove interesting, but I'm pretty underwhelmed. It's more or less regular paint with grit through it, so for the cost you're probably best sticking with superglue/pva/paint and sand mix and flocking. It's probably a good thing if you're looking at speed painting, and certainly better than just painted bases.

This might put me out off the hobby 'til I find the energy to order an all new paint stock. D***n GW

I feel upset right now. Don't know if I have the energy to start all over.

It's only paint! And from what I have read, the paint is very good, better than the last iteration - everything except for the metallics and the texture paint. Haven't tried them myself, but my local shop is pretty jazzed about them.

I'm sure the new gw paints will be good. I just want to go into a shop every 5 years and be able to replace my blue with the same blue. Not a new jazzy named different consistency almost the same colour.

I agree with you there, I remember going into my local GW store and asking 'what brown is the same as spearstaff brown ? and getting blank looks :? ' but at least GW have thought to provide the conversion chart on their website, hopefully they will be the same...
Also Vallejo are not the holy grail, some of their colours are just as bad as the GW 'problem ones' IMO.

 I was trying to think of something smart to say, but with all the stuff going around the forum these days, I wouldn't want to be taken as brawling - so I will agree. I have a particular I fight with. And their dropper bottle metallics are less than stellar, while their alcohol metallics are fantastic, they are a nuisance to work with. So there, the truth on Vallejo from a die-hard user.

I only have used Game Colour metallics and they seem to be ok. I still have a very old pot of GW Bolt Gun Metal and Shining Gold on the go (the 20ml ones) I miss 20ml pots :(

@ Grant- Nearly all my paints are Vallejo apart from my old 20ml citadels from the '90s and about five of GWs newer ones that I thought would be useful,so I too am a big Vallejo fan. I think my problem paints could just be duff pots?? as they seem to refuse to mix properly. my only real criticism of the Vallejo model colour range could be that there are possibly some colours that are very similar to my eye. Oh and that 70930 Dark Blue is not really that dark... :geek:
As far as GW paints are concerned the foundation colours I have are good but tend to dry a bit too fast even on a wet palette.
