Jim's kraal sections

Postby CptJake » Sat Mar 24, 2012 4:12 pm

My daughter and I painted up the stone kraal sections from the Horns of the Buffalo set this last week and finished them up this morning.

The set comes with 12 sections, each 6 inches long and in a mix of destroyed/falling apart and in good shape.

All are VERY nicely detailed.

These were primed with cheap black spray paint. The rocks were then painted gray with craft paints, and then drybrushed with craft paints. The dirt was painted a dark brown then drybrushed. Finally, some flock was used on the broken kraal sections to show plants growing between the rocks to help show they are old and out of repair and static grass applied to parts of the base.

My daughter helped with the drybrushing and with the flock and grass. She enjoys it and I enjoy her help.

A quick easy part of the project, and I think they look good, especially for a no-talent hack like myself. Of course, that is probably due to my daughter's help (as she has pointed out).

Thanks for the complements.

These, the mealie bags, cart baricades and the final redoubt all have been easy to paint. I just need to keep motivated and keep plugging along.
