WIP druids house Baba Yaga style

Postby carvel2 » Sat Mar 10, 2012 5:08 pm

As a child I loved the story of Baba Yaga and if I'm building Celtic huts I thought I'd try something in a style reminiscant of her house on legs.....Here's the inspiration..
The hut will compliment the other two built but sit on stilts in a marshy pond. It will of course need some 'offerings' to the deities littered about the place and will suit the next part of a campaign to rid Ribchester of celtic rabble.....

Can't wait to see that painted, looks awesome so far. What sort of filler is that you're using on the ground?

They look different. Are these for your Witchfinder games, then, Carvel? They'll look great when their finished. A really great centrepiece for a gaming table.

Nice idea, looks very much like the grain stores we find in ancient Northern Europe. With poles to keep some of the vermin out. The roof looks great.

Looks great Carvel... what is the white paste?

I really like the idea of the house on stilts.

Always loved the Hellboy rendering of Baba Yaga's house, not suitable for Celts but fantastically creepy:

But perhaps for celts, this is more the thing?:

The white paste is just polyfilla in a tube. It gets smeared on the pringles tube after the roof is attached then daubed on the ground. Needs some sand throwing at it : )
@ Mikeland...great asterix link. I thought about that after commiting to the stilts...perhaps a knarly old oak tree.
@ Big Al...shhhhhhh! Its a secret ;)
