Warpaints mega paint set

Postby Painter Jim » Mon Feb 06, 2012 6:30 am

Special ordered this state side and cant wait for the February delivery of my new paint set. I have been trying to hold off on finishing the Confederate brigade that is currently on the bench, do to the fact that I am out of a few much needed colors that were used during the painting of this batch of minis. Has anyone purchased this set and what do you think of it, I have placed my order with "The War Store". What I would give for some Leather brown at this moment, the wait is killing me. Also have recently purchased a Brigade /Army deal from 1st corps which will be coming very soon and will be splashed with the new paints. :)

Almost forgot this, just arrived Hoods Texans colors sheet by Battle Flags and the flags were well worth it...great detail.

Can't comment on the AP paints as I have not used them .

I personally prefer a brand which I can obtain locally just in case I run out of a certain colour.

I also used to be accustomed to this as well but now I currently reside nowhere near a supplier or shop unfortunately.

I would be interested to know how these paints perform as well, although i have over 100 Valejo paints i probably consitantly use under 30 of them. Its just a matter of figuring out colours which suit and sticking to them.If this set was around when i first started i would have given it a go and i may still. So a good comparison review would be very handy :D

I have also never purchased a complete set before do to that fact of owning colors that I would probalbly never use. This sets colors seem to be in my prefered shades unlike most larger paint sets. I will definately post my thoughts on the new paint and some pics. Only time will tell as in performance that is, hope I have not ventured to far on this one.

Well the set should arrive this week or the next and could not be more needed I have used the last of three colors in the past week and have been mixing to get desired colors but still to me this is not the exact colors I am desireing. I have been achieving much needed mixing experience during the last month but to me seems like I have been ending up with way more leftover paint even though the mixing starts out in very small amounts I still end up with a larger amount then usually used. I have recently purchsed a few citadel paint pods from HobbyTown and have been very pleased with the texture of this brand and I can only hope for the best in my new untried paints. :|
