Army Painter Acrylic paints

Postby paulsmodellingworkshop » Wed Mar 07, 2012 2:56 pm

Hello All,

I have been sent the Army Painter Mega Paint set for review by MW and wondered if anyone has used these?

They are the 18ml acrylic paints with the 'dips' in ink format - not the sprays, any opinions?

Cheers, Paul.

I'm a bit of a paint tart but I've not used these at all, I've been holding fire on trying them for want of a review. You could be the man! ;)

I am hoping they will release them as singles. I don't have a need for all those colours.

One or two is all I need to match the primers I use for touch ups and the like. Of course if they prove to be decent paint, and if they are made by Vallejo they should be, then they should be worth getting in their own right. Getting hold of paint is a problem locally, only the model brands, GW and Vallejo can be found and there are no local shows worth speaking of, only Q-Con which isn't.

I wonder if paint bottles would be allowed as hold baggage on the flight home from Salute?

Should be no problem at all with acrylic paints as hold baggage, no classified hazards on any of them. I would perhaps advise putting them in a sealed container or at least a ziplock bag, you wouldn't want the pressure and temperature changes in flight making all your shirts look Hawaiian :)
