Ye Olde Village WIP

Postby grant » Mon Feb 20, 2012 1:48 am

Well, I didn't quite get them done, but they are on their way!

Three houses, for a village that might serve from ECW to Napoleonic period. Foamboard, plasticard, balsa, polyfilla, gesso, toweling for thatch, and I kind of wimped out and scrounged some doors and windows from my GW bits box. Still haven't quite figured out how to do decent windows and doors.

A nice start for a town.I hope toi see more of that from you.
But windows are simple, as simple as making miniatures. Just cut everything away that looks wrong. ;)
No, the trick is the framework.

Lovely work so far grant. The doors and windows integrate really well.

Thanks Mike! I was surprised they worked; I did modify most of them, but they seemed to work!

Nice buildings Grant. I have just read this months Wargames Illustrated (issue 293). There is a great article about scratch building a watermill with the ingenious idea of using of a domestic plastic ventilation grill to make windows.
