Ship ahoy!

Postby Oriax » Fri Jul 01, 2011 11:49 pm

First of all, hello everyone!

I think you might want to see this little ship I've made, it is made of wood, and a litre or two of superglue!
It really is'nt finished, but so far so good, don't you think?

That looks ace.

I've always been worried about boats because of the sea being so cold ..... [and now the punchline] and in fact even that wooden floor the boat is on looks a little parkay.

Sadly it's still in the making, among all the other projects.. But I guess I could show you a sneek peek:

Did you build the ship from plans or straight out of your head? I'l extremely impressed by the boat and shoreline - looks like very few historical periods they wouldn't be suitable for.
Do you play/collect a particular army?

I have to say that is a fantastic ship.......Might I be the first to suggest a captain for your ship..

Captain John finch is the man you need for such a ship!!!...he looks like someone, can't think who!

My daughter has him already, but no shp as yet!

Haha, Captain Finch would be a little weird as I thought I was going to use this ship as a gun boat for my 28mm Brittish Napoleonic army.

Too much Hornblower + Sharpe while painting I guess..

About the gameboard piece, as I play warmahordes, 28mm BP, 15mm in ancient to ww2, and a little modern 20mm I try to make my gameboards to fit all those periods/scales.

Thanks for all the kind words!!

Edit: Sorry mike! I generally have a sketch or a picture as a general direction to my projects, but in the end it's always my brilliant/insane mind that prevails and it more often than not end up becoming something way more awesome than I first thought out. :)
I was once going to to a gauntlet for a LotR cave troll in greenstuff, it ended up like this:
