suggestion....

Postby scuy » Thu Jun 16, 2011 10:45 pm

How about we kill the yahoo group forums and just all use this one. Right now I just found out about this one. With checking two forums for the exact same game seems to me a tad off. Centralize this bad boy, for it is a slight pain to watch both forums for information. If not, I guess I will have to keep looking at both and see repeated questions and answers.

There are some on the Yahoo Group who don't use this, regardless of it being mentioned numerous times. The thing about the Yahoo group is that messages come direct into your email inbox and you can reply straight from there. I know some people don't like that, but I don't mind it. On here you have to remember to log in and check it regularly. Not a chore as such, but a little less convenient!

The thing is that folk have questions and ask them on either, or both. Rick spreads his time between the two and will sometimes miss things on here. I think that this is because, as I said earlier, that the Yahoo group delivers the messages direct to members email inbox as and when they are posted. This forum requires a member to log in and look things up. If the authors don't have the time to log in then questions will go unanswered for quite some time here.

Both serve a very good purpose. I don't see why they can't exist together. :)

What kind of woolly-headed thinking is that?

If some board exists outside of this one it must accept its inherent inferiority and accept our philosophies, our posts and our board rules. Failure to do so will result in them being labelled part of the 'Axis of Evil Boards' and all board members having dealings with them will be demonised and suffer sanctions.

Then we'll invade and nick their oil.

I am convinced that they contain posts of mass destruction! So we need to go and sort them out, not that we are looking a regime change...

They're clearly loyal to Pompey, let's march south after winter and get them.

He means this one: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/HailCaesarRules/

And just for the record, I am a staunch supporter of the Caesarian faction.

All kidding aside, I created the Yahoo fan group, which is not affiliated with Warlord Games, in order to help support and spread the word about Hail Caesar. It appears to be succeeding quite well. The group currently has 554 members and is growing rapidly. The group is also quite lively, and Rick is an active participant.

Having said that, if Rick, Paul, John or anyone else at Warlord Games should feel that the Yahoo fan group is negatively impacting their business and ask me to close the group, I would of course respect their wishes and do so.

Cheers,
Scott

Though they might be happier if their regime was changed for them, to reflect freedom and democracy...
