Hi guys, new here, ordered a box of Romans a few days ago, sadly while there are no historical gaming clubs near me, this has allowedmeto plan for something more fun, slowly creating a full legion! Since I don't have to game with these, I can build them up slowly, carefully and paint them for the joy of it but I have a few questions: 1. Am I right in assuming that the standard Legionaries box comes with 24 Pila arms and 8 Gladius arms? 2. What models are compatible with the Standards Pack? I'm assuming the Vexillarius and the Auxiliary Signifer?
The Auxiliary Signifer is the standard bearer for an Auxiliary Cohort. A few slight differences in uniform and kit from a Legionary Signifer. A Vexillarius would be used to lead a detachment from a Legion which is small enough that it doesn't take the Eagle with it. So 1-5 cohorts. Anything bigger and they'd have the Eagle. James
I know both of those, I'm just asking which models are compatible with the Standards accessory pack. I'd mostly pick the Aux Signifer 1. To get me a Signum and 2 to have a different look for my Signifers than just having the Vexillarius model with a Signum etc.
I think the sprues have a total of 12 gladius arms and 18 pilum arms.
Pardon me, Julius! Here wast thou bay'd, brave hart; Here didst thou fall; and here thy hunters stand, Sign'd in thy spoil, and crimson'd in thy lethe. - Julius Caesar, Act 3 Scene 1
Looking at http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/....._roman.jpg There looks like 8 Pila Arms and 4 Gladius Arms per 10 man sprue, and on the command sprue there appear to be 7 Pila Arms and 4-5 Gladius arms, so 13 and 23 at a guess.
