The Battle of Catraeth at Partizan today

Postby scrivs » Sun Sep 02, 2012 7:29 pm

Today was Partizan at Kelham Hall. James, Matt, Andy H, Andy M, Tom, Steve and myself re-fought the Battle of Catraeth, the battle detailed in the Y Gogodin epic poem.

An excellent time was had and here are a few snaps.

Blimey, that's a lot of Saxons! Excellent, good looking game - was the mead monolith a VP target - or punishment?

The Mead Monolith contained the small plastic rings we use to mark casualties. We have a spear embedded in the ground at the rear of each unit and drop a ring over the spear each time a wound is caused - simple and unobtrusive (you may be able to spot them in some of the game pictures).

However James did award us all small bottles of Mead for our heroic endeavours in the original game.
