Needed - Perry OR Victrix Stovepipe Heads - Please Help

Postby gorgarrak » Fri Apr 27, 2012 11:51 pm

I don't know if this is allowed by forum rules (If not Mods please remove this thread)

The story so far, About 2 years ago a bought a load of Victrix British, but ordered 2 boxes of Waterloo instead of Peninsular - Now 2 years on when i get to assembling them i find myself with 3 headless Battalions!

I am quite badly in Need of about 80 Plastic British Heads in Stovepipe Shakos, Either Perry or Victrix would do, I understand that Perry ones would be easier to come by as both the Stovepipe and Belgic are included in the box.

If you have any to spare I would be willing to pay a reasonable price plus postage, and I have Paypal

Please P.M. me if interested
Many Thanks

Mike

I have the same problem, a friend of mine bought me Waterloo rather than peninsular victrix chaps for my birthday.

My solution will be to turn them into Royal Marines for Hornblower type skirmish games, maybe you could do that with one battalion or so? Victrix sell the upgrade kit.

Everyone who uses the Perrys plastic British has this problem because there aren't enough stovepipes for the figures in the box, but there are more than double the amount for 1815, including those with the covers on them. You can shave the Waterloo shakos down a bit. Remove the band that goes around the back and shave off the cords and you should get away with it. It is what I did and it works but it is a bit fiddley. A dremel might make it easier. :D

I had a similar problem with my French - there are an excess of Grenadier/Voltigeurs so I used my Dremel to remove the epaulettes. Worked out decently enough.
