French v Austrians

Postby Jammers » Fri May 04, 2012 7:20 am

Ever had one of those games? My French wiped the floor with Q's "invincibles" yesterday evening

Despite the fact that the French never moved more than twice their move rate and the Heavy Brigade never moved all game, they could do no wrong.

Musket and Cannon saves, no problem. Saves against HtH attacks, don't make me laugh. And as for my attacks, well ... :D

Quint and Pete's poor little faces

Just hope my luck holds into the large game on Monday at Maelstrom against the Russian/Austrian alliance. I hear that they may be out-numbered but the ground favours them

Enjoy

For our game the French have

29 battalions of infantry in 6 Brigades

2 battalions of guards in 1 Brigade

6 regiments of cavalry in 3 Brigades

4 batteries of guns

That's around my goal numbers. I have intent to put 7 regiments in 2 brigades, and 1 Dragoon regiment, plus 3 guns on the table. My friend had best have been building his Austrians or this will be a quick affair!

It was the funniest thing. Disruptions to order :D

My favourite moment though was moving into line on initiative and surrounding your Lancers. I know full well that if you hadn't stopped short on that charge on my battery, with heavy cav to its rear, i could have been in a world of pain for the rest of the game

Great fun chap, as always
