First Game

My friend and I tried out Black Powder for the first time today. It was just a small ACW game with a brigade on each side. It went quite well and it didn't take long for us to be playing without constantly referring to the rule book. The thing that surprised us was how sturdy the battalions were. We were expecting them to crumble and break very quickly (most of them were 'small' with just two stamina points) but they were able to take a real pounding and keep functioning. Now that we are getting the hang of it we'll have to try a larger battle and use some of the special rules.

Thanks for the AAR Scott. What armies were you playing (was it set in any particular period or theatre of the ACW?)
I dont suppose you took any pictures?

Hi Mike,

This wasn't really something worthy of a real AAR We were just testing out the rules and were pleased with what we saw. Our next game will probably be at the Fall-In convention at the end of the month and I will take some pictures and make a proper AAR.
