It would be grand if our Gentlemens Napoleonic Gaming Group was expanding :)

Quint and i are putting on a French v Austrians game down at WH Lenton this evening and i have to pick up a pack of British Officers from Steve. I'll see what they think

guys when you play are you using the basic rules for napoleonics as in rulebook and its napoleonic scenario stats??? or do you have ammendments
also i like the ideas i have seen on this forum recently to add to the form square roll/rule with unit cability as written esp if militia/conscripts
also how do you allow units cross bridges or ford and fight i suppose-re formation allowed esp if the opponent holds the opposite bank closely?

.

Hi Peter we have our own amendments for each army, I think Paul (scrivs) was using the basic game rules for this one though to show the guys the mechanics of Black powder without special rules getting in the way.

as for ford or bridge combat, we would allow some form of crossing and combat depending on terrain type and situation, I think the bottom line would be that we would discus before hand as to what rule would apply to the particular game feature

i.e. typically 1 x Move for crossing a river [or one-half of a Move depending]

I can't say that we've fought over a bridge. Do what it takes to make it a fun game. I'd allow the Freanch over in Attack Column rather than March column
