Looks great.

The only Imperial Guard commander I could find (I only have peninsula books and the Guard weren't there much) was General Dorsenne who in June 1808 commanded 6,412 men. So that's probably not very useful :D but I tried.

The more experienced guys will probably sort you out.

Dorsenne it is!

thanks for that, i might have to get some more suitable names for the brits (as they are all peninsular war) rather than gin and whisky :P

cheers :)

I wouldn't mind looking up some Divisional and Brigade commanders for you, it makes me feel happy when my big (and not very cheap) book gets used.

Give me an idea of what year you are going for and any regiments you want to include and I'll give you some example brigades to steal names from.

Hi all, long time between posts...

Thanks Clauswitz, If I had a commander in mind It would probably be a highlander one and a cavalry one for the Brits.

Ran these lists the other night... good fun game (write up under somewhere in spain... over in the BP bat reps)

Brits
CiC - the Duke of Wellington ('ol big nose himself)
1st Brigade - Picton
32nd Cornwall Regt, 3rd Regt - "the buffs", 59th Regt - Nottinghamshire, 95th rifles 1st coy, gun battery
2nd Brigade - Col. ???
79th Cameron Highlanders, 92nd Gordon HIghlanders, 91st Regt - Argyllshire, 95th rifles 2nd coy,
3rd Brigade - Col. ???
royal horse artillery battery

French Cic - Soult
1st brigade - Ney
36th Ligne, 105th Ligne and 27th Legere, 1st and 2nd chasseur Coys, 10e
2nd Brigade - Dorsenne
2nd Old Guard Regt, gun battery, 1st Coy Guard chasseurs
3rd brigade - Murat
4th regt curaissiers, 7th Regt Dragoons, 2nd Regt Dragoons

Thoughts? I think I need another Brigade of infantry each (French especially) and the Brits are getting some hussars and another Guard unit for the French.

cheers,

Tas

Hehe, well since you asked....

If you want a divisional sized game, but with the CiC as Wellington and some of the awesome Divisional commanders as Black Powder Brigade Commanders, why not keep going and have Spencer (Guards and scots division) or 'Daddy' Hill as one of your Infantry brigade commanders?

If you want historically accurate names at the right ranks, then it depends on when you want to 'set' your force.

I like 1811, so here are some names from that campaign year.

At Fuentes D'Onoro, the 79th were in Nightingale's Brigade, and the 92nd were in Howard's Brigade.

As for a cavalry commander, the two Brigades were commanded by Slade (1st Dragoons and 14th Lt Dragoons) and Arentschildt (16th Dragoons, 1st Hussars KGL).

The Horse Artillery batteries were commanded by Bull and Ross.

If you want different dates or more info, just ask. Its fun to share info on such an interesting period!

Happy gaming.
