Tetrarch crew?

Postby Paul @ Warlord Games » Sat Sep 19, 2009 7:51 am

I'm getting nowhere finding this out so over to you chaps to help me out...

Would a British Airborne Tetrarch tank have British Airborne crew (ie, Denison and maroon beret) or regular tank crew (therefore black berets)?

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul,I've just had a look in Osprey Elite 152 British Reconnaissance Corps in WW2.6th Abn Armd Reccon, (who deployed two heavy troops of Tetrarch light tanks in Normandy) wore standard Airbourne Uniforn with maroon beret with recon corps badges.Hope this helps. :)johnm

Excellent - thanks John.

I'd always presumed they would be Airborne troops but Battlefront painted theirs with black tankers berets and khaki tank crew overalls hence the doubt in my mind.

Tetrarch crew?

were all units recon Corps (Recce christmas tree cap badge)? My dad was RTR and when he served with the Airbourne, he wore a Maroon beret, with black diamond backing patch and RAC Mailed fist Cap badge.
