Postby Centurio Marcus T » Thu May 12, 2011 2:34 am

Gday all              Ihave been looking at Too Fatlardies Rules and would be interested to know if anyone on the forum uses them? I am looking at Troops Weapons and Tactics for platoon size games. So if anybody can advise me that would be very appreciatedWink                       Cheers Marcus T
Once you get them running, you can stay on top of them, and that way a small force can defeat a large one every time

Too Fatlardies Rules

I've got TW&T as well as I Aint Been Shot Mum (IABSM) but as yet not played either EmbarassedCan't decide between TW&T or Rules of Engagement for platoon level games and IABSM is a candidate for company level+ along with Flames of War, Battlefront WWII and BlitzkriegCommander. My plan is to run the same scenario using all the rules to give a comparison. The Lardies stuff are prime candidates though as the blinds system is ideal for solo play IMHO.

Yes the solo play is one of the things whicjh may sway it my way.Have you got the hard copy or down loaded version. If you have the download how many pages are there?Ihave heard a few good reports about Lardies games so may go ahead with the download as hard copy doesnt apear to be an option on their site.Cool

PDF (most of their stuff is PDF only now) and it's 110 pages long. Would advise printing off the rules section only as Part Two with all the force details is full colour and picture heavy (unless you have access to economical colour printing)

I use TW&T for platoon-level games (in 20mm - but it'd work just as well in 28mm).  It's great.  The games feel just right - just like reading some of the 'worm's eye view' books - such as Sydney Jary's "18 Platoon".As for printing out the PDF, I printed out all the rules (which are B&W) plus those of the colour pages that I actually needed.Phil

Too Fatlardies Rules

Postby Big Al » Fri May 13, 2011 6:25 am

Have you seen the tutorial videos on YouTube? There are three for Sharpe Practice. Can't find the link right now, but I think there's one on their website. Anyway, it gives a run through of how the rules work and most of theirs run along similar lines, so will give you some idea of what you're looking at.
