17 pdr 'Pheasant'

Anyone know if this ad hoc beast saw action outside of North Africa/Tunisia? More specifically did it make it to North West Europe at all?Not having much with the t'interweb on this...Cheers,Paul

No, not NWE.  Sicily perhaps, but that's about as far as they went.  The 17 pdr was really too powerful for the carriage, and they wore out very fast.

Nah Cubster there'd be too much buckshot gauge in the meat  it'd be case of chew /spit/ping on the plate etc..........    :-)    Although i'd love to see it try to take off n fly
