The great 'Germans arsing about' thread

Postby Paul @ Warlord Games » Fri Jul 02, 2010 10:56 am

Here at Warlord myself and John are always on the look out for that most rare of things – photographs of German soldiers messing around in WWII.

Yanks acting up to the camera? Loads of examples.

British Tommies having a lark in front of the lens? A veritable plethora of snaps to choose from.

But the 'other side'? Not many snaps of our Teutonic foes having a laugh anywhere near a photographer…

So, the challenge is to post pics of German troops doing that very thing!

I'll kick this off with one which has had us rolling around here today…

Hammerzeit!

Cheers,

Paul

I post the link, rather than the picture for reasons of decency. Here we have some healthy Teutonic chaps enjoying some robust aqua-gymnastics on the Eastern Front. You may ask the question, how do we know they're German soldiers? If you look closely you can see their helmets.

You have to look closely, however, because the water is apparently fairly chilly.

Here some naive German soldiers during the Polish invasion are fooled into attending a Pole Dancing class.

Spike Milligan's little-known service as a double agent in Hitler's Germany saw him instrumental in recruiting and training for Ze Goonjaegers.

Confusion reigns during the early recruitment for the Hitler Youth, whilst in the background an unfortunate Fallschirmjaeger regrets packing his parachute upside-down.

There's nothing more natural for a healthy chap like me, than to keep a private file full of inspirational images of athletic chums enjoying each other's manly company.

Roehm probably said something similar on the Night of the Long Knives
