Q about: Waffen-SS Firing Panzerfaust Figure

Postby The Door » Thu Jul 05, 2012 7:06 am

Hi,

I am new to this forum and game, and what I see so far I love, I really long for the rules :)

But I have a question regarding the Waffen-SS Firing Panzerfaust model, is the warhead of this weapon really rocket propelled, isnt it a recoilless weapon and thus there should be no flames from the warhead?

Well just to be historically correct :)

Love the figures :)

Hi Eric welcome aboard.

Good spot on the panzerfaust... Though I think the problem here is probably more with the painting then the sculpt, as the trail could be painted up as the smoke trail though ideally that should be both ends.

Thank you.

You are correct, when looking more closely on the flames it should be no problem to paint it as smoke instead :)
First I thought it looked more like a flame pattern than smoke.
But I still miss the back blast from the Panzerfaust :)

I'm guessing there's the possibility of using a smaller scale explosion marker with a pin in it, that could slot into a hole drilled in the back of the panzerfaust. If you've got a removeable back-blast then you've got the convenience of taking the thing out for transport or gaming if needed.

The miniature is nice but I did not use the spectacular flying warhead parts.

The cloud in front was not very big. Old Wochenschau shots show that very well.
Have a look at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-_iYl3u17U

In darkness there was some illuminating in front too, sparkles that followed the warhead Sog / pull from the open barrel. Nasty for a Soldier trying to hide from the attacking tank fleet.

It was not the safest weapon anyway. At the first life fire presentation to Hitler the user was killed, the weapon exploded, ripping his head of. Otto Morawitz from Heerswaffenamt was there and was very drastic in telling the story.
And the reaction of the Führer. Welcome back breakfast.
