I must say the reanactment of the battle of Gettysburg,(ACW) was pretty spot on. They did an amazing job, and they to set camp much the way it was done over a hundred and fifty years ago. Then first thing in the morning the battle begins, Cannons, cavalry, rifle volleys, and bayonet charges. Quite a spectical to see. As far as camp life, did that for six years in the USMC for real, in some of the worst conditions on the planet. Getting eatin by mosquitoes the size of small birds and sharing my shelterhalf with centerpedes the length of my forearm. Not something Im looking forward to doin again. lol But at least you guys get to go home Sunday to a cold beer and a soft couch.

Yep Bud is swill as is Sam Adams Ale. The only good stuff I have had from that side of the pond is Canadian.

Anyone in Europe who thinks Bud is a good beer needs to be deported straight away

Yeah PA "digi cams" as we called them were real nice, and the greatest part was no more ironing. Couldnt see the wrinkles! Marines are notorious for strict uniform ethics, even in the field. Attention to detail!!! One other thing about the digi cams we were the first branch to recieve them and we even had our own stlye that had the Eagle Globe and Anchor symbol hidden into the print. Unfortunately you cant buy those in a surplus store.

Now you know that just because a civi shouldn't have them doesn't stop them getting them, especially when a guy needs a few extra dollars coming in.

I've got a set of each and the Covers (see, using the correct terminology as well!) as well as the boots. I did find out that it's illegal in the US to ship out current issue body armour so no kevlar for me! :(

Btw, these things are solely for birdwatching in but the OCD completist in me wanted to round it off. I don't run around in it in a way you'd disapprove of ;)
I did stick to the known fact that you can wear a camo shirt on it's own, trousers on their own both with the matching boots but wear the shirt and the trousers together and folk stare, laugh and point.

Cheers PA, thats the stuff. Now all you need is 13 weeks of USMC bootcamp and your there.lol All kidding aside, its the only service that you earn a title, and that you keep for the rest of your life. The Eagle, Globe, and Anchor means as much to me today as it ment to me the day they pinned it on my chest. As we Marines say"Semper Fidelis"which means "Always Faithful". OooRahhh!!!! PS I was actually lucky enough to have just become an NCO when they first issued those out. The NCO's got them before anyone else did. Thanks PA you brought back a great memory for me. Once again Cheers
