Japanese Jungle Fighters

Postby Helen » Sat Mar 31, 2012 9:19 pm

Hello everyone,

Sorry I've not been active lately, but I hope to make it up in the future.

Received my Japanese Jungle Fighters the other day and upon inspection and miniature build they are very nice.

The heads go on the miniatures very well and I like the grim determination both in stance and expression. The designer has done very well with this set. I do like the extra detail provided on the packs too.

I hope to have some painted miniatures for show and tell within a fortnight.

Thank Warlords for a great set of miniatures.

Paul, can we expect the anti-tank pack soon?

Cheers,

Helen

Hi Helen,

Glad you like them - very tempted to start a Japanese force myself on the back of these sculpts.

Next release for the IJA is a pack of 2 snipers. Wojtek is almost done with them.

After that it'll be tank crew or anti-tank figures.

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks Paul very much for your reply. It's a win win in any case what comes next.

If you do some dismounted Japanese tank crew too that would be really good. They all didn't die in their tanks as some would say.

I can see a set of dismounts in informal attire with their tank machine gun giving hell to the enemy.

Cheers,

Helen

Paul,

I have a question out of pure ignorance.

I know nothing about manufacturing miniatures, I have 2 boxes of Japanese soldiers, is it possible to produce these in plastic using the same molds/masters?

A definitely different process - plastics are made with injection molds, whereas metals are made by centrifugal castings - at least that's what it looke like in the Warlord picture from the tour.

GW is currently casting "Finecast" from centrifugal castings but I have read a lot of horror stories about them - they are resin. I haven't ever bought one, and won't.
