The Militärbläche is square but they are made of that impregnated cotton cloth. Not very waterproof. There is a reason why they no longer use it as rain protection. Just for Biwak.

And the German form is obvious on period pictures. Look at the arms. Imagin to wear one in a wood. Or Boccage. And imagin to see a well clad SS man. I would have ... feelings for him.

Anyway I would like to see some of the ordinary German soldiers in metal. Not only SS and Fallschirmjäger.

No, you said explicitly about German ones as if you had access to first hand accounts, not what you imagine to be the case looking at a picture.

I don't need to imagine wearing an original German zeltbahn in a wood, I've done it and specifically pine. Does it get cause on twigs? A little but much, much less than your main uniform, webbing straps, equipment hanging on the back and would you believe, much less than your own arms. The reason being that it streamlines your form. The only thing from the top of you head to the bottom of your crotch it can catch is the neck hole.

Properly conducted experimental archaeology can certainly provide insight into the impact of dress and equipment on the combatants of the day, but it is not the same as wearing it under the conditions of actual close combat with the same background in training and military culture/doctrine. I think that it is important not to over egg the pudding into I know, because I've done it. Unless someone is actually a veteran of the German armed forces who served c.1944, who wore one on a daily basis and moved through terrain as individuals and as a team in the manner in which they had been trained to do, then they cannot know, but may enjoy some insight.

As an aside, it is normal where writers are not posting in their mother tongue to give some leeway and not leap on every possible error in syntax to drive home a point. For example, by the wording of your post, you seem to have worn the Zeltbahn over your personal equipment. I suspect that this was not the case and that you wore it under your belt kit, but it is a natural deduction drawn from the ambiguity of your chosen wording. So why not ask for clarification before leaping on someone's back?

I don't know if it has been mentioned before since it seems rather unlikely
but I really would like to have plastic British in Denison Smock.
No need to call them Paras, as there is a fantastic metal range already, so let's call them Glider Infantry
In the later stages of the war the Denison became more common even 'ordinary' units wore them then.
Plus the conversion possibilities would be phenomenal!!

As much as the 'Pegasus Bridge' box set I keep fantasising about..
Plastic Paras and Jerries as well as a scale model of the bridge and maybe a German tank in a box.
Now that would be huge!!!!
