Lt. Colonel William Leighton’s Regiment

Postby Correus » Sat Dec 31, 2011 5:42 pm

Can anyone tell me if Lee Abbott used the Thirty Years War Swedish Regiment box set to create his Lt. Colonel William Leighton’s Regiment? I really like the pikemen he used.

They look either from the box or the metal ones. I have similar looking minis. Not sure about the TYW box.

The pikes look like the plastic "masts" ;)

These are the standard plastic pike men from either of the ECW or TYW boxes, I should know I've painted about 15 of em!

You get one fully armoured pike man like this on every sprue, plus 3 more un armoured. Lee Abbott used all the armoured ones from what looks like 2 box sets worth in one regiment.

Armour was quite scarce on infantry in ECW, and going out of fashion, do I tend to give my regiments a mix of armoured & unarmoured pike men in each... But that is the beauty of these plastic sets plenty of options to pick and choose your own preferred method. ;)

Thanks guys!

I think I'm going to have to have at least one unit that's armored - I like the look!
