TYW Supplement

Postby infdiv197 » Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:49 am

I am pleased to see that BP released the new supplement for the 18th century warfare.
I am personally interested in this era, especially in the Great Northern War, Scanian War and the Marlburian period.
I love these colorful armies of that particular period. However, this is a very tight niche when it comes to the general gaming population and I was surprised to see that this supplement was chosen prior to the TYW/ECW supplement which was announced about a year ago.
Does anybody know when the TYW/ECW supplement may be published?
I really would love to see that one being released very soon!!!
I also would be interested to find out which other periods are planned to be published as supplements?
I think that the Italian Wars would be very nice to get covered as well. What can we expect?
Thanks for any comments or insights.

Hi. ECW/TYW Is now going to be a separate rule book covering 1500 to 1700, it will be based on the black powder system, but will be a whole new set of rules. It is due some time this year I think.

Thank you mikeland, this is good news altogether and I like this very much. I had hoped for a separate rule book due to the fact that this would make the most sense to consider all the very different fighting styles and period specific considerations for shooting and close combat for both infantry and cavalry. Also, the periods between 1500 -1700 is just a vast enough time span that a supplement book would not possibly cover all of this, but rather would require a number of individual supplements. I like it that way better. It'll be like the Hail Caesar book for the renaissance period. Great! And hopefully just in time for my very large TYW army in 28mm I am putting together right now.

I found a link on Amazon to pre-order the TYW supplement book covering the period between 1600 -1700.
I am surprised to not see anything on the Warlord website about that. Wow! Why not?

Purely and simply because as soon as an ISBN number is requested for any book, Amazon throw it up on their website. The details given when an ISBN number is requested are generally sketchy at best and not at all reliable due to the leadtimes involved in getting the code through.

Suffice to say Amazon don't have the correct details!

The writing is finished for the book and this week we received the final battle report (bloody lovely it looks too!). Production starts this month.

You'll hear the news from the horse's mouth on our weekly email newsletter - not from Amazon!
Cheers,

Paul Sawyer

Yay
In the interests of rumourneering it's likely to be an early/mid year release then?
