I don't know how that slipped my net the first time I 'decided' on what army to do! Following Mister Cromwell is an obvious choice really! :)

While I fully share your sentiments towards Landsknechts, they precede the TYW by roughly a century.

the ECW figures look great, i'm building a west country royalist army. but as for the thirty years war i think Sir horace De Vere and his English contingent on the continent need to be represented so thats who i'll build my thirty years war army around.

First, hello everybody.

Now, with my answer:

A Catalan Reapers War army. The Reapers War (catalan: Guerra dels Segadors) is the “official” name for the catalan insurrection started in spring 1640 which ended with the Peace of the Pyrinees in 1659. I just posted a brief explanation elsewhere. Seeing the popularity jacobites and covenanters enjoy everywhere, it’s just unfair that this army goes unnoticed while there’s so many tercios and french troops about these years. And not having the bunch of information other more famous conflicts have, it’s fun to be speculative about catalan units, uniforms and standards and so on.

I was thinking to play republic of the seven united provinces (the netherlands), but some how the dutch don't seen to catch on.

so now i'm thinking either swedish or danish 30 years.

For ECW - Royalist or Mortrose Scots,

For TYW - Christian IV Danish, with full options on allies and near compulsory Skyttebaade and Ledingskibs.

You should start to see a few more TYW-centric models coming through in the next few weeks/months.

Still plenty to go for ECW/TYW but we'll be making stuff that is only really for TYW soon...
